Tim Fry
Managing Director | B.Eng. (Hons) Mining, ACSM, MAICD
Tim was formerly Executive General Manager- West Africa for Lihir Gold Ltd, an ASX listed gold producer with annual production in excess of 1 million ounces and operations in Australia, PNG and Cote d’Ivoir (West Africa). He subsequently held a key leadership role as part of the integration team following the Lihir merger with Newcrest Mining Ltd in mid 2010.
Prior to joining Lihir, Tim was President of Dyno Nobel Pacific (2002-2008) and a member of Dyno Nobel’s global management team, a company he had been with since 1992.
Tim has extensive experience in the mining, resources and civil engineering industries and has B.Eng. (Hons) Mining, ACSM, MAICD. He is also Chairman of Crucible Gold Ltd and a Director of Maxam Geo Cote d’Ivoire.
Mariana Kaker
Product Manager | MSc (Chemistry)
Mariana is an Industrial chemist with over 25 years experience in explosives development and manufacture, including 15 years working in both R&D and plant management with Dyno.
She has significant experience in the development of bulk and packaged emulsion, underground uphole emulsion and specialised products for hot and reactive ground.
In 2005 Mariana started Explosive Manufacturing Systems (EMS) which manufactured packaged ANFO and specialised tunneling explosives and in 2009 built a second plant to produce “Python” centrally corded presplit product
Duncan Minto
Technical Manager | BSc (Mining), BCom
Duncan is a Mining Engineer with over 28 years’ experience in the mining and explosives industries. With over 18 years working of experience working in Dyno Nobel, Duncan has gained experience in product development, procurement and logistics, business improvement and electronic detonators.
Duncan also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He has a strong commercial focus ensuring that solutions deliver both on the technical requirements and the financials for sustainability.
With the move from Dyno Nobel, Duncan became a joint owner of EMS.
Duncan has a passion for continuous improvement and a drive for ongoing product development.
Karl Böhmke
Commercial and Operations Manager | BSc (Mining), MBA
Karl is a Mining Engineer with an MBA and over 30 years technical and management experience within mining and explosives industries.
Having started his career in the deep level gold mines of South Africa, he soon found his niche in open-pit blasting and commercial explosives. He spent 11 years working for Sasol Dyno Nobel in various technical and business manager positions before relocating to Australia in 2006 with Downer Blasting Services as Area, Technical and State Manager.
He has also held Drill and Blast related roles with Chevron, BHP Billiton and Newcrest.
Karl joins Nitro Sibir Australia with commercial, technical and international explosives experience as a practical problem solver with a keenness for business development, efficiency and technology.
Simona Jerman
CFO | MProfAcc, CPA
Simona is a highly qualified accounting and finance professional with extensive experience in auditing, accounting and financial management.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma of Management from CQU, Masters Degree from Bond University and is a member of Certified Practising Accountants in Australia.
Over her diverse career, Simona’s responsibilities have included managing business accounts, all operations of a finance and accounting department, and complex financial audits.
Prior to joining Nitro Sibir Australia, Simona spent four years as a CFO in an audio and video engineering company where she implemented new software that improved management control. She has also spent more than 10 years in auditing companies from various other industries.
With over 20 years’ experience in executive leadership, financial & accounting management and corporate development, Simona was appointed the role of Finance and Accounting Manager at NSA in 2014.
Hendrik Richter
Operations Manager | Bachelor of Agriculture
Hendrik holds a Bachelor of Agriculture. He a thorough understanding of mechanical issues and the importance of technical support gained from his own business. He also serves on several community committees and has his Commercial Pilot licence.
Hendrik joined Orica in 2008 where he gained valuable experience in the explosive industry. In a supervising capacity, he was responsible for customer service, staff management and maintenance of equipment.
Hendrik joined NSA in 2015 and today, holds the position of Operations Manager where he contributes widely in the manufacturing and delivering of explosive products, technical maintenance and the daily operations of the company.
He is also responsible for the development of new systems and facilities for NSA enabling the company to deliver a high-quality product and services per customer needs and demands.
Hendrik sees his role in NSA as instrumental for the future with the need to continually improve and innovate to build opportunities in the mining and explosives industries.
